- Patience gives Success
A long time ago in China, a father decided to take one of his sons to the monastery so that he may study and learn martial arts, among other things. The father promised to the monks that his son would work... - Living with success
Each time we achieve something, let us ask ourselves what new challenge we can pose to ourselves. This will help us keep the drive within us alive and achieve more and more success. Too much literature is... - Fear is Freedom
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held highInto the haven of freedom my father, let my country awake. Nothing stops man as fear does. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that...
Have you ever felt alone even when you know there are people around you who love you?
We sometimes delude ourselves into believing that the success of our near and dear ones are ours too; well it is, but in an indirect way. Depending on the intimacy of the relationship, we get to enjoy the payoff. We can share the monetary rewards, the glory and the limelight, but at some point we come to realise that it is all reflected. We are like a beaming moon, beaming with the light cast off from the success of others. But there will be a time when we would want to be the sun too, to shine in our own glory.
It is wonderful to think that we always have sometime at our side, someone who cares for us, someone who cries with us, laughs with us, someone who'll hold our hands and walk the paths we choose to tread. But, no matter how much someone loves us; we have to ultimately do what we have to do. We have to bear our own cross. No one can live our life for us nor can we live someone elses life. Each of us has our individual share of responsibilities, dreams and desires, goals and aspirations that we have to carry out ourselves. People can help us, guide us, support us, hold our hand, be at our side, but it is we who have to swim those laps at the Olympics.
If we win, we alone get to climb the victory stand...
We can be a great friend, sibling, spouse, parent, peer, employee, boss. But we will never feel complete unless the essence of our being finds utterance. Be the moon sometimes but strive towards being the sun too.

Beautiful hub! It reminds me of the lines in Douglas Malloch's poem:
"If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail--
Be the best of whatever you are!"
We can't all be suns, but as long as we are doing our best of whatever we are, then we will shine and stand out too.
What's really enlightening is when we realize that we don't "take on" light into or unto ourselves; rather, we unveil and reveal it from within ourselves.
Beautiful hub, glad I stumbled upon you. Enjoy it. Thank you.
very touching. I love the title alone. then again i love the moon. Just to find anothers understanding of light amazes my soul. Thank you for allowing me to view this. Blessed be my friend.
I know what it is you are talking about. We can start out with all the help in the world, but the last mile is something you have to acheive on your own.
Beautiful! I enjoy reading it ;D. Thank you for sharing. Voted up

Well, I guess that if the love and appreciation is mutual, than we are bringing the warmth and light of the sun to the ones we care about. Great hub
