Experiences and Comments of Players at Australian Open 2012

18-Jan-2012: Nalbandian loses to Isner

It's ridiculous playing this kind of tournament with this kind of umpires. What is this? Why did the ATP do this? - David Nalbandian.

19-Jan-2012: Serena defeated Barbora Zahlovova in 66 minutes.

It's like the ultimate, it's really cool, really cool. The first thing i asked, of course, 'Is there anyone that achieved 1,000?' i guess not. I never will get there either. But 500 is a lot of matches to play, let alone to win. - Serena Williams.

20-Jan-2012: Federer knocked out Ivo karlovic.

Running up, I didn't know what to do. Probably left and right, going to go too slow and he's going to slam it home. Let me try the lob, even though that's not what you're supposed to do against him - Roger Federer.

22-Jan-2012: Courageous Clijsters defeated Li Na despite her knee problem.

I can't believe i won. I knew before the match it was going to be a tough match. But, i didn't expect this. - Kim Clijsters.

23-Jan-2012: Makarova stuns five time Australian Open Champion Serena Williams.

I played her in Beijing and I was really afraid of her because she's a great player and it's really tough to play against her. But this time, I don't know, yeah, I felt so comfortable" - Ekaterina Makarova.

23-Jan-2012: Tsonga upset by Nishikori of Japan

When you have a guy in front of you who returns everything, even when you serve at 215 kmph, it puts a lot of pressure on you. It's tough to play against him because he runs a lot and eveything's coming back - Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.

Hard to see past Nadal for the Roland Garros title, but none of the top 4 are really impressing this year. Personally I think Del Potro will have a deep run. As for the women's it has to be Masha or Azarenka. Can't wait for it to get underway though, love watching clay court tennis. Great hub and I will be checking for your updates
